About Sheridan

Sheridan county and the surrounding area is steeped in western history. It was the last prized hunting ground of Native Americans who hunted and fished this fertile valley and the region is rich in the history of the white man trailing through en route to the Montana gold fields. Many Museums, historic sites, forts, battlefields, and a western art museum present this complex history. In 2005 Sheridan received the honor of being named the #1 “True Western Town” by True West Magazine. Walking the streets of Sheridan (a great Main Street), is to discover and explore the West. Sheridan is also an ideal travel base, offering fine dining and quality acommodations with over 1,100 rooms available. Direct daily flights connect Sheridan to Denver, Colorado and Billings, Montana via commuter airlines.
